Burritt on the Mountain

Located on the former estate of William Henry Burritt, this museum, located on Monte Sano features the Burritt mansion, a historic park which includes restored nineteenth-century homes, a barnyard with various farm animals and nature trails. Throughout the year concerts, plays, festivals and exhibits are scheduled.

The mission of Burritt on the Mountain is, "to enhance lives and build community through educational, artistic and recreational experiences while preserving our heritage, land, and historic structures."

Earlyworks Children’s Museum was designed for children to explore!
A Talking Tree delights children with stories, while giant-sized instruments at the Alabama bandstand and the Kidstruction Zone offer interactive play.
Pre-schoolers enjoy exploring a touch-and-learn area which includes karaoke, a garden, grocery store, and a water table.

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the Depot served as the local passenger house & the corporate offices for the eastern division of the Memphis & Charleston Railroad. An active passenger station until 1968, the original depot building now stands as a symbol of Huntsville’s transportation history
Discover Civil War graffiti & listen as Andy, the robotic ticket agent, tells of Alabama’s railway history.

The U.S. Space & Rocket Center is Huntsville's premier destination for learning and amazement. Your visit to the museum will reveal a spectacular collection of rockets and space memorabilia, artifacts and simulators in the museum's own gallery. In addition, the museum presents scheduled exhibits throughout the year such as "Da Vinci: The Genius," from November 1, 2013 - March 2, 2014.

Tickets may also be purchased for feature length movies in the IMax theater and for a bus tour of the Marshall Space Flight Center.

9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily
Closed Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
 
MUSEUM ADMISSION:
Adults (13 & up) $25
Children (6-12) $20 5 and under free.
Price includes museum and choice of IMAX® or 3D film (excludes feature length films).

The Veterans Memorial Museum

The Verterans Memorial Museum is dedicated to promoting and disseminating the accomplishments of American military men and women. Exhibits are viewed both inside and outside of the building. 

This Museum has been designated by the Alabama House of Representatives as the State of Alabama Veterans Memorial Museum. The Veterans Memorial Museum displays more than 30 historical military vehicles from World War I to the present, as well as tableaus, artifacts, and other memorabilia dating back to the Revolutionary War.
